SelectGPT is a browser extension that provides AI-powered text tools. It is designed with a privacy-first approach —
we do not operate any backend server and do not collect, store, or transmit any user data.

Data Storage

All data generated by SelectGPT is stored locally on your device using Chrome’s built-in storage API
(chrome.storage.local). This includes:

  • Extension settings and preferences
  • API keys you provide
  • Response history
  • Clipboard history
  • License activation status None of this data is sent to, accessible by, or stored on any server owned or operated by us. API Communication When you use an AI tool, your request is sent directly from your browser to the third-party API provider you have
    configured (OpenRouter, OpenAI, Google Gemini, or Anthropic). We do not act as an intermediary. You are responsible
    for reviewing the privacy policy of your chosen API provider. Data Collection We collect no data. Specifically:
  • No personally identifiable information
  • No browsing history or web activity
  • No analytics, telemetry, or usage tracking
  • No cookies or fingerprinting
  • No data is sold, shared, or transferred to any third party Permissions SelectGPT requests browser permissions solely to provide its core functionality:
  • All URLs — To display the floating toolbar and input assistant on any website
  • Active Tab — To read text you select for AI processing
  • Storage — To save your settings and history locally on your device
  • Scripting — To inject the response UI into the page you are viewing
  • Identity — To verify Pro license activation Third-Party Services SelectGPT connects only to the API provider you choose to configure. We have no affiliation with these providers.
